Ongoing Fundraising

Online Shopping Honeywell PTFA Just Giving Page

There is a really easy way to raise money for the school that doesn't cost you a penny and involves the minimum of effort!  Whenever you are buying something on-line, all you need to do is go to one of these two sites first:

You'll need to register and select Honeywell Schools PTFA as your beneficiary.  Then all you need to do each time you shop on-line is to find the retailer you want to buy from, click the link on the site and then complete your purchase in the normal way.  The PTFA gets a % of every £ you spend.  The reason we have signed up with both sites is that the % commissions vary.  Below are examples of some retailers and their commissions, but note this is only a selected list - there are literally hundreds of retailers on both sites.

Retailer The Giving Machine Easy Fundraising
Amazon 3.75% 2.50%
Argos n/a 0.75%
ASDA (non grocery) 1.88% 1.25%
Tesco Direct (non grocery) 1.50% 1.00%
Sainsbury's (non grocery) 1.50% 2.00%
John Lewis 1.50% 2.50%
Toys R Us 2.25% 1.50%
Early Learning Centre 3.00% 2.00%
Mothercare 3.00% 2.00%
Boden 3.75% 2.50%
Dabs.com 1.50% 1.50%
M&S 3.75% 5.00%
TheTrainLine 1.13% 0.50%

These commissions are minimums, some retailers pay more for certain goods and have special offers. Correct at 31st October 2009.

We have linked up with Wicked Uncle, an internet  gift site that sells toys and gifts for children aged 0 -12.  Wicked Uncle offers a complete gift service - they will give advice, recommend what to buy, gift wrap, add a card (handwritten) and post it all off to the child concerned. Wicked Uncle will donate £5 for each customer introduced through Honeywell - just click on the link below and enter the code "Honeywell" when checking out:   http://www.wickeduncle.co.uk/

Donate a Book via Amazon

You can donate a book to the Infant and Junior schools' libraries while shopping on Amazon.  Both schools have set up wish lists of specific titles and you simply click on Honeywell's wishlist to add the title(s) you want to your Amazon shopping basket.  For further information read  Donating Books to the Library through Amazon.

The PTFA holds many fundraising events throughout the year, but sometimes families and friends just want to make charitable donations directly, for which we can claim Gift Aid.  We have now set up a new easy way to do this, either as a one-off donation or a regular monthly payment.  Click on this link: http://www.justgiving.com/honeywellschools. You can donate easily and anonymously if you prefer - using your credit / debit card.  All donations from UK taxpayers are automatically "topped up" via Gift Aid

Honeywell Merchandise

Honeywell has a wide range of merchandise for sale throughout the year including bags, umbrellas and recipe books.

Cake Sales

Each half term a cake sale is held after school in the Infants and Junior playgrounds.  Classes can undertake to run a cake sale as part of their fundraising commitment for the year.  The cake sale schedule for 2011/12 is listed below.  Please contact Claire Nicholls  or Jen Bath if your class would be interested in running one of these cake sales. Organic Fruit and Veg in the Playground!

What could be easier than picking up your organic fruit and veg from school at the same time as your children?  It It also raises funds for the school whilst allowing you to buy organic food at a very reasonable price.

Farmer’s Choice, the non-profit scheme run by Abel and Cole, delivers fruit, vegetable and combination bags to the school once a week.  25% of sales goes to the PTFA.  Last term the scheme raised over £1000 for the PTFA.

How does it work?

You email or text your order to Patricia patriciamorse1@hotmail.com or 07979 603434 by Thursday night and pick up your bags in the Infants Playground at 3.15-3.30 the following Tuesday.  It’s as simple as that. You can order on an ad hoc basis, varying your order as you please and having a bag when you want, missing a week other times.  You can also order for the whole half or entire term if you know you would like a regular bag weekly.

How much does it cost?

Vegetable bag (5 different types of vegetable)                      £8.50

Fruit bag  (4 different types of fruit):                                  £ 6.50

Combi bag  (2 different types of fruit and 3 veg)                   £11.50
